"Advice to young artists? Make art. Find things that need to be addressed in our society. There is a need for our world to be beautiful and the possibilities to design well are of service to the world. Make this whole experience of life a better thing."
-Peter Geisser, former Art Director, RISD
Communicating through the Arts is another avenue in which our students are encouraged to access the world and to express themselves. Young children possess a remarkable, intuitive relationship to what they see. It has been said that developing artistic literacy and personal expression are essential elements of a comprehensive education. We agree. All students at RISD take Visual Arts & Design Classes several times/ week or for a trimester each year under the skilled instruction of Mrs. Dana Janik.
